Welcome to Mosaic!

At Mosaic Academic Empowerment Center, we are dedicated to fostering a vibrant community where all individuals are celebrated for their unique strengths and perspectives. Our mission revolves around championing academic excellence within a framework that honors and embraces neurodiversity, particularly focusing on uplifting women, girls, and other marginalized genders.

We recognize that true success encompasses more than just academic achievement; it also involves personal growth, emotional well-being, and the cultivation of meaningful connections. That's why we place a strong emphasis on providing comprehensive support that extends beyond traditional academic boundaries.

Through tailored programs, services, and resources, we empower our scholars to not only excel academically but also discover their passions, build confidence, and forge lifelong friendships. Our commitment to creating a safe and nurturing space ensures that everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.

At Mosaic, we take pride in the transformative impact we have on our community. Whether you're navigating the challenges of academia, exploring new interests, or pursuing your professional aspirations, we are here to support you every step of the way. Together, we create a mosaic of diverse talents, experiences, and achievements, enriching both our individual journeys and the collective tapestry of society.

Meet the Academic Director!

As a licensed social worker and Doctor of Social Work, I am fueled by a profound passion for socio-economic equity, especially in empowering historically underrepresented communities. As someone living at the intersection of quite a few sociocultural identities, I bring a unique perspective to my work, enhancing my understanding of diverse experiences and needs. I am deeply committed to increasing representation and support for neurodivergent women in academia and research, recognizing the importance of their voices in shaping inclusive policies and practices. I am an adjunct professor of social work and human services, and my research zeroes in on advancing intersectionality in social work education, aiming to tackle the obstacles hindering culturally responsive autism services.

In my downtime, you'll find me roller skating or diving into a captivating audiobook.

If you share my passion for equity and inclusion and wish to collaborate, don't hesitate to reach out via email: savannah@mosaicacademicempowerment.com

“To build community requires vigilant awareness of the work we must continually do to undermine all the socialization that leads us to behave in ways that perpetuate domination.”
